The Botany Bay was founded in 1997 on a mission to educate the public about the many aspects of hemp and cannabis. Things have come a long way since then, which just goes to prove–you’re only crazy until you’re right!
Our Story
In 1996, founder Ginny Saville bought a package of goods made from industrial hemp from legendary hemp activist Gatewood Galbraith. Little did she know this venture would grow to be something that her life revolved around.
“You know how people say they start on a shoestring….well we started on a broken shoestring” laughs Ginny when you talk to her about her humble beginnings.
Today, The Botany Bay is a widely recognized brand name in central Kentucky, representing forward thinking change while having fun along the way.
